Dog Food Rating Information

I’m really, really angry.  I probably shouldn’t be writing when I’m upset, but sometimes anger is a good thing, and I think this is one of those times.  I started this site for two reasons:  I work with a woman who nearly lost her dog in the tainted Menu dog food fiasco, and she has a friend who did lose her dog because he ate the tainted food and wasn’t strong enough to survive.  I don’t want to see anyone go through that needless pain and if this site can save even one dog, then I will have succeeded.

The other reason is that I think most commercial dog food is pure crap.  Most dog foods are NOT nutritious and are NOT healthy for your pet.  They contain ingredients that will flat out adversely affect your dog’s quality of life, contribute to diseases, and shorten your pet’s life.  My objective is to publish dog food review information so that you, the consumer and owner of a pet who is not just an animal, but part of your family, can make an informed decision about what to feed your dog.

I’m also angry because most of the dog food companies hide the crap they sell behind slick advertising that costs millions of dollars.  They don’t care about the health of your pet.  They care only about their bottom line and keeping their shareholders happy.  They can do that by using cheap swill in their dog foods (stuff that isn’t fit for human consumption) and then charging you top dollar because you trusted their hype.  You believe, like I did, that they would put the well being of a living, breathing, feeling creature above profit – but they DON’T!  That they can pretend to care when they really don’t pisses me off big time (sorry).  Hopefully, the information gleaned from this site will empower you to do more research and learn what is really best to feed your dog.  I’ll also give you my personal opinion on what I think are the best dog foods.

Our dogs bring so much joy into our lives.  They are unconditional with their love.  They don’t care if you are fat or thin, short or tall, drop dead gorgeous or watch-stopping ugly.  They don’t care how smart or clever you are.  They just love you for who you are.  I have a small poster on my wall at work, “Lord, help me to be the person my dog thinks I am.”  That pretty much says it all.  Because our dogs give us so much, we want to keep them in our lives for as long as possible and we want them to be healthy and vital.  We can take a major step in ensuring their longevity and health by giving them the best possible nutrition in the dog food we feed them.  I hope I can be of help to you in making those decisions.
